Colton Consortium Virtual Speaker Series event

The Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity invites you to the next Colton Consortium Virtual Speaker Series event, featuring Mark Anderson, MD, PhD, the Robert Friend and Michelle M. Friend Endowed Chair in Diabetes Research and the Director of the Diabetes Center at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Anderson is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work on the mechanisms that drive immune tolerance and autoimmunity. His research revealed how the transcription factor Aire (autoimmune regulator) controls the body’s ability to prevent immune cells from attacking healthy tissue—a discovery that reshaped the field’s understanding of how autoimmune diseases begin. Building on this foundation, his lab continues to uncover new insights into the pathways of immune regulation and has translated these findings into novel strategies aimed at restoring tolerance and preventing autoimmune disease.
