The Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity invites you to the next installment of our Virtual Speaker Series, featuring David A. Hafler, MD, FANA, the William S. and Lois Stiles Edgerly Professor of Neurology and Professor of Immunobiology at the Yale School of Medicine.
A leading figure in neuroimmunology, Dr. Hafler’s groundbreaking research has transformed understanding of multiple sclerosis (MS) and paved the way for new therapeutic approaches. His seminal work includes identification of circulating human autoreactive T cells and the mechanisms that underlie their dysregulation with the discovery of human regulatory T cells. He also co-led the discovery of MS-associated genetic variants that link immune responses to environmental factors, such as salt intake.
Dr. Hafler is a founder of the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies and the International MS Genetics Consortium. His pioneering contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Jacob Javits Merit Investigator Award (NIH), the John J. Dystel Prize for Multiple Sclerosis Research (American Academy of Neurology), and the Steinman Award for Human Immunology Research (American Association of Immunologists).
We look forward to your participation in this seminar and to continuing the exchange of ideas across the Colton Consortium community.
