Prof. Yaari was trained as a physicist (BSc, MSc, and PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and crossed the borders to computational immunology during his postdoctoral period at Yale university, where he specialized in analysis of big biological data.
Currently, he is a full professor at the Bioengineering Department of Bar Ilan University. His data science-driven lab combines experimental and computational expertise, aiming to address fundamental questions in adaptive immunity. During the past years his team has mainly developed bioinformatics computational tools tailored for the analysis of Adaptive Immune Receptor Repertoire sequencing (AIRR-seq) data and analyzed high throughput sequencing data from a wide range of clinical setups.
Over the last 10 years, his team published over 60 papers in leading scientific journals and was rewarded with more than 15 competitive international research grants.
